Radiant Floor Heating
![]() |
Radiant floor heating provides an amazing way to
heat homes and commercial buildings by radiating heat up from the floor surface.
This method achieves a totally comfortable heating environment, while eliminating
baseboards and heat ducts. A big advantage of radiant heat is that an area can be heated with only a fraction of the energy required for conventional heating methods. A typical room depending on construction may be able to be heated with 50% less energy than baseboard or forced hot air. |

Pictured here is a Sippin Technician securing the Wirsbo cross-linked polyethylene tubing over insulation. This type of heat is evenly distributed through out the room and is free of dust or contaminates associated with forces air heat. |

Once the radiant tubing is secured and pressurized, concrete is poured and leveled. Radiant heat works well in a concrete slab application, but can also be used with many other flooring types including hardwood, tile, and carpeting. Radiant heat can also be added retroactively to existing homes by applying radiant tubing from the floor layer below. |

This radiant floor warehouse of 6000 sq. ft. only has a heat load of 152,000 BTU's (roughly that of a large house). The fuel used at this facility will be approx. 1/4 that of suspended furnaces. |
